You know the embroidered green linen I wanted ?
Well, I went back to pick some up and guess what ??? It's stretch cotton !
It doesn't feel at all like linen, it's definitely stretchy and on top of it all , the bolt was labeled correctly - My brain must turn to mush when I go in a fabric store LOL
I also picked up a lighthweight polyester that should make a nice pair of summer pants and probably a skirt as well.
I got 3 yards of each.
Will post pics once the camera batteries are recharged and I'm going to need advice. Because now it's cotton and not linen, I don't know what to do with it !

Make an a-line dress! I like them made out of stretch cotton, because they have more give! Sort of like wearing a full length T-shirt, but more attractive, if you know what I mean.
ReplyDeleteI got inspired today to cut out my first dress from the pattern you sent me, only to discover that I have no yellow zippers to match my fabric. So, I have stitched what I can, and am eagerly awaiting the arrival of the zippers I've ordered. The dress is really nice! I hope you still have a copy of that pattern, because it would look great on you.
ReplyDeleteI must have your email somewhere, but can't find it.
ReplyDeleteIf you don't have milk powder, use milk or buttermilk (or soured milk) instead of the water in the recipe, and that will solve the problem!
And yes, I ordered like 100 dress length zippers, but no yellow! I guess yellow hadn't come back "in" yet. No worry, a dozen are on the way.
